what-is-a-mini-sheepadoodle

A Sheepadoodle is a cross between an Old English Sheepdog and a Poodle.  Sheepadoodles are known for their playful, outgoing, and loving demeanor.  Just like the Old English Sheepdog and Poodle, they are very smart and trainable.  With their adorable looks and great dispositions, these dogs make excellent companions!  Sheepadoodles are very people oriented and affectionate dogs.

size

Sheepadoodles come in two different size ranges depending on the size of the parent dogs.

Mini: 25 – 45 lbs (sometimes minis will mature larger or smaller)

Standard: 50+ lbs

Once Upon A Doodle specializes mini Sheepadoodles.  Because mature size is so hard to tell in puppies, I will estimate but no size is guaranteed.  We currently do not breed Standard Sheepadoodles.

coats-and-appearance

Because neither the Old English Sheepdog or Poodle shed, Sheepadoodles will not shed either.  Although no dog is considered 100% hypo-allergenic, Sheepadoodles are considered very allergy friendly and will likely not pose allergy problems.  The coat types range from straight / loose wave, wavy, to curly.    Sheepadoodles are lean in appearance and often seem much larger then they are due to their luxurious coats.

Occasionally, Sheepadoodles are born with a lot of white, or almost all white.  Some of the other rare colors that are not commonly seen in Sheepadoodles is sable, brindle, and phantom.
